Pastor Ted Hurley was born in Fresno, California and moved between California and Oklahoma the first 18 years of his life.  He joined the Air Force in 1969 and served for seven years three months before being honorably discharged in July, 1976.  During those seven years, Ted was stationed at Lackland AFB, Barksdale AFB & Fairchild AFB.

While serving at Barksdale AFB in January of 1970 he met his first wife, Jennifer.  They were married in June 1970.  To this union, two daughters were born.  Melinda Kay in November 1971 and Teri Leigh in December 1980.  In the spring of 1972 Ted was saved and baptized while attending Bossier City Missionary Baptist Church (now Stockwell Road MBC).

Due to military service Ted, Jennifer and Melinda moved to Fairchild AFB in 1973, where they attended Valley Landmark MBC in Spokane, Washington.  Upon discharge in 1976 they returned to Bossier City, Louisiana and Ted eventually went to work for the U.S. Postal Service.  Upon their return to Bossier City they again attended Bossier City MBC.

Ted was ordained a Deacon at BCMBC and served as one of the Youth directors for many years.  In 1984 God called Ted to the Gospel ministry and he enrolled at Louisiana Missionary Baptist Institute and Seminary (LMBIS) in Minden, LA.  In 1986, Ted was called as Pastor to Stamps MBC, in Stamps AR.  In 1988 he received his Bachelor of Theology degree in Bible Languages.

Ted has pastored at Union Avenue MBC, Bogalusa, LA; First Baptist Church, Sullivan, MO; Stockwell Road MBC, Bossier City, LA; Butterfield MBC, Malvern, AR;  First MBC, Bourbon, MO; and in January of 2016 at Calvary MBC, Sherman, Texas.

In 2010, while at First MBC, Jennifer Hurley died after a lengthy illness following heart surgery.  In 2013 he met Charlot Haumesser (a widow) and in April of 2016, they were married.  Charlot recently retired from Government service at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.  Together it is their prayer to see Calvary MBC grow in Spirit and in Truth.  May God bless all of you.

In His Service,
Ted Hurley
